Imagination By The Day or Hour

I like to think of myself as a Visual Artist.
I love all areas of photography! You name it from portrait photography and wedding photography to child photography!

My background is a commercial & sports photographer.

I am an energetic and highly motivated people person who has been involved in photography since childhood. I was born and raised in the Sacramento Area and absolutely love all that our area has to offer, from great river areas and trails, to our historic landmarks, and local entertainment. I started shooting first in High School at Del Campo. For the past 24 years I have always had a camera nearby.

Early in my career I worked at some local weekly newspapers as an advertising photographer, event photographer, and a sports photographer. I even had a short run as a photo editor. I discovered I had a knack for shooting sports, which I believe is partly due to my extensive background as a competitive athlete. Sports photography is still one of my favorite forms of photography.

Another form of photography I love is child photography. One of my greatest joys of being a father of 4 has been documenting my children’s lives through photos. Having watch my kids grow I see how valuable those images of them are at each age. I have always had an easy way with children, which I believe is because I am a big kid myself. I love to document children in a natural candid way in their own environment, especially at play. I think the more relaxed the photo environment is, the better the images are.

Wedding photography for me has evolved as I have been in the business. No longer do stiff group photos cut it. Most of my clients want an individual and unique brand of photography for their wedding. I really enjoy treating the Bride and Groom as if they are models and try to make their special day fun with some very interesting posing and shot ideas. No two wedding are alike, so why shoot their pictures be the same.

Now that my oldest child is in High School, I have been approached by parents for senior portraits of their sons or daughters. I have teamed up with a professional hairstylist and make-up artist to create some truly beautiful shots of these teens. We make them feel special and their portraits are tailored to their lifestyles and activities.

Family portraits are another form of photography that I have been fortunate to be involved with. Family portraits become charised family memorablia as time goes on. I learned this when my dad passed away 2 years ago. How wonderful it is to see him in a photo with our entire family by his side. I am touched by trust that is given me by my clients, and I work very hard to give them exactly what they want, while maybe introducing them to some alternatives that I think they would like.

As a photographer I have been able to serve both national and international clients with the ability to adapt to meet the specific needs of a project.

I am very fortunate to be able to work in the field I love. For me, photography consistently provides new challenges and rewards. Looking through the lens was what I’ve always liked to do. I think it’s because of the way it reduces and simplifies the world around us. Making unique photographs relaxes me, it’s my therapy.
For every problem there is a solution . . .
you just need to ask.
